Here, we briefly explain the technology behind VIERA:

Panasonic VIERA technology provides superb clarity, sharp 2D and 3D images along with deep black detail while keeping the energy consumption as low as possible. VIERA technology includes a slimmer rib structure around each pixel within VIERA TVs, allowing more light to be emitted, therefore a brighter screen image is displayed. Blacks have been improved with a new reduced glare and reflection technique along with new materials and an increased contrast resulting in rich, deep and detailed blacks. The luminous efficiency of the 2011 VIERA range has been improved by around 15% on the 2010 VIERA range, saving you energy and money.

So, the image quality that the VIERA range delivers is, quite simply, breathtaking, but there is much more to compliment the range as far as user features go. Keeping up with evolving technology is important, and Panasonic recognise this with the VIERA range of TVs. Sub-Field Drive & Frame Creation Pro

This is the rate in which images are displayed on the screen to dramatically reduce image blur and produce smooth image motion. Panasonic use this method for the Plasma range of televisions.

 

 

Infinite Black Pro

This is the VIERA technology used for black production. It has been improved upon with the 2011 range with the use of larger plasma cells, new phospor and improved gas.

 

 

VIERA Connect

This is a cloud-based Internet service, meaning you are able to access new types of entertainment other than films and TV programmes. New content that can be accessed through VIERA Connect is interactive games, sports & fitness activities, shopping and much more.

 

 

DLNA/Wi-Fi Ready

This advanced networking feature enables wireless connection to devices via your VIERA TV. Operation of all devices can then be made with just a single remote.

 

 

USB HDD & SD Card recording

This feature allows you to record films and TV shows onto an external USB hard disk drive and an SD card, for future viewing and control with the VIERA remote control.

 

 

Freesat HD & Freeview HD

Both of the above free HD content providers are available with VIERA televisions (models vary). There is a one of charge for Freesat HD and you must have a satellite dish to receive the signal.

 

 

IPS Alpha panel

This panel is part of the TV screen and provides a wide viewing angle with no loss of quality when viewed at an angle. The new LED backlight behind the panel further enhances the image displayed.

 

 

VIERA Image Viewer

View your images in HD via the integrated SD card slot. You will also have the option of transition effects, background music and slideshows.

 

 

VIERA Link

Connect devices such as a Blu-ray player, games console, home theatre system etc and control them all with a single VIERA remote.

 

Panasonic TVs range in price depending on where in the VIERA collection they feature. The 3D Plasma TVs can be priced up to £4000, whereas the lower range models are priced as low as approximately £250.
